As Google started expanding its collection of products, I got involved with Google Docs, Analytics, and Calendar. I’ve found Google Calendar absolutely essential to staying on top of my schedule! However, it’s not available when I’m not online, and I hate checking more than one place for my information. Conversely, I don’t always have my laptop on me, which means I won’t have access to my Outlook to program a reminder or check outstanding ones. Luckily, I stumbled upon this neat solution.

If you’re a fan of Microsoft Outlook, I’ve got a great and simple method for you to connect your Google Calendar with your Outlook calendar to keep each one synchronized with the other. That way, you won’t have to worry about double-checking with another calendar to see if you’ve got everything you need to cover for the day. Firstly, you’re going to need an installed version of Outlook ready on your computer. Once that’s prepared, simply download this application, which connects Google Calendar with Outlook. Download Google Calendar Sync (UPDATE: This tool is not available anymore) (.exe installer for Windows). After you run the installation, you’ll be greeted by the setup screen. You can also choose to sync in increments of time. I think 120 minutes is a bit too spaced out, but for some of you that might be more than appropriate. You’ll be able to find this application in your system tray. It’s the one that resembles a calendar.

Right-clicking it will summon this menu.

From here, you can either access the setup screen where you can change email addresses (in case you ever need to). You can also manually sync from here into Outlook, and in the case you ever run into trouble on this application you can Troubleshoot. The possibilities are endless! Now you’re able to sync Google Calendar with Outlook. You should also be able to sync Outlook with your smartphones, which means all your calendars will stay updated and you can stay on top of the stuff that you need to do. Happy working, and stay productive! Cheers. The above article may contain affiliate links which help support Guiding Tech. However, it does not affect our editorial integrity.
